Fiberglass Pools
Fiberglass pools are becoming more and more popular since they have several significant advantages over their concrete counterparts. To name a few:
Advantages of fiberglass pools:

Affordable: The installation cost of fibreglass pools is about 20% lower than that of concrete pools. Due to fewer maintenance, chemical, and energy use, ongoing expenditures are also decreased.

Quick: Instead of taking three months, installation just takes three weeks. (Depending on model ordered, of course)

Gentle: The non-abrasive surface is softer on your feet (no ripped tootsies), and fibreglass is less rigid than concrete if your children unintentionally knock themselves down.

Fiberglass functions as a natural insulator, retaining heat for a longer period of time.

Cleanliness: The gel coating's smooth surface and lack of pores stop the growth of mould and algae.

Green: Less cleaning, less chemicals, less energy consumption = smaller carbon footprint.

Strong: It’s hard to believe anything is stronger than concrete, but fiberglass is very durable and can withstand movements in the earth better than concrete.
Disadvantages of fiberglass pools:

Fiberglass pools frequently have limited colour and design options, compared to the infinite shapes of concrete.

They are pre-made and can only be purchased "off the rack," whereas a concrete pool will be constructed specifically for you. Having said that, many fibreglass pools have built-in lounging rooms and swim-outs, so it's worth looking into.

The width of these pools is restricted to around 4.2 metres because they must be transported by road (however, this should be wide enough for most backyards).

The pool shell must often be lifted into your backyard using a crane.
PRO TIP: A rebated (or drop-face) pool coping edge that slopes or drops down toward the waterline can hide more of the exposed fiberglass if you don't like the way fibreglass looks, particularly between the waterline and pool coping. Maintaining a full pool will also lessen the amount of visible fiberglass.

Advantages of concrete pools:

Limitless additions: Anywhere you like, ledges, alcoves, and swim-outs can be added.

Pool landscaping: Concrete pools are ideal if you want to design a freeform pool that blends in with your environment and has a natural pool-scape.
Disadvantages of concrete pools:

Due to the requirement to wait for the concrete to dry, installing concrete pools will take longer.

Concrete pools will typically cost more, especially since they frequently have more intricate designs.

Concrete pools require more frequent upkeep because they typically need to be resurfaced every 15 years.

Additionally, some claim that concrete pools are naturally colder than fibreglass ones.
TIP: Check your soil before deciding to install a concrete pool. Come summertime, you can find yourself with a damaged pool and a broken heart if the earth is unstable and not prepped properly. A fiberglass pool would have been a better option in these circumstances since it can move with the soil or proper excavation and fill installed.
Vinyl Liner Pools
Advantages of Vinyl Pool

Disadvantages of Vinyl Pool

Despite being more prone to algae formation than fiberglass, with proper pool maintenance and water balancing, algae can be eradicated or avoided.
TIP: Walls can be made with steel or polycarbonate, but if you are thinking about a salt water pool, going with polycarbonate is the better option. If the salt water eventually gets behind the liner, if will rust the steel quickly.
Above Ground Pools
Above ground pools have come a long ways over the years. They are a perfect fit for some properties.
Advantages of above ground pools:

The space: They can fit in almost any property.

Elevation: Side walls act as a barrier for small children and pets.

Less property impact: Little to no excavation required. If you ever decide a pool isn't for you, it is the easiest pool to remove.

Price Point: The most inexpensive pool of the bunch.
Disadvantages of above ground pools:

The look: Considered the least eye pleasing

Algae: Least amount of jetting and suction points can lead to algae growth.

UV Light: Sun exposure on exposed sides will cause fading.
TIP: Circulate and check water balance regularly to ensure that salt water or chlorine levels are in recommended levels to prevent algae growth.
